thoughts of home

All right everyone, so this month is the second edition of Lauren’s "Get the Picture!" This month's theme is home. I had originally planned to photograph my room and home but then decided I wanted to challenge myself a bit so I went out and photographed my hometown Whittier. Since I spend a majority of my time in Los Angeles, I often like to refer to it as "my city" yet Whittier is where I live and where I grew up. I love it here.

(If you haven't checked out Lauren's blog, you really ought to! Click on the button at the end of this post to check out her blog.)

Central Park

This is Central Park and just down the street is Uptown Whittier. Abraham and I go to Uptown a lot since there is a movie theatre, record store, book store, vintage shop and plenty of good restaurants.

historic house in Uptown Whittier

Uptown Whittier is filled with historic houses such as this one.

pink flowers

Many of the historic houses have some of the cutest gardens I've ever seen. I officially want my very own garden :)

Children's art

Can you believe this is Children's art? They are so cute! (The next three photos are random shots.)

outside of work

Yesterday I signed up for YELP. I decided to sign up since I always read Yelp reviews before I try out a new place (99.9% of the time the reviews are accurate). Are any of you on there? Leave me your link if you are and I'll be sure to check it out :)

The photos are lovely :3 Did I mention how incredibly jealous I am, because you live in Los Angeles? The city where everything happens!

This is so beautiful where you live. For me (as seen through European eyes) very American. And that increases my desire: I have to see America. So great.

The photos convey the peaceful atmosphere of your town. I hope you'll make some more posts about it, because I'm very interested in your point of view about your hometown.
